venice beach

the weather has been heating up a bit here in LA, so yesterday we decided to get away and visit Venice. It turned out to be the perfect beach day - so much so, i think we'll go back today!

i finally brought a swim suit for lexie - but managed to forget everything else in the process. including: a 2nd diaper, a change of clothes, sunglasses, and even my house key. for the first time in the 3 years that we have lived here, I locked myself out.

the beach was more relaxing than i thought it would be. we played in the sand, played in the water, and soaked up some rays. i don't know how she managed it, but within 5 minutes of getting to the beach and our towels laid out, lex was already completely covered in sand. it's good she doesn't seem to mind sand, cause when i say "everywhere" that is exactly what I mean: eyes, mouth, nose, ears, and other delicate areas...
