Sabatical
I was going to start off by apologizing for the long absence... however, since my Mom is really the only one who looks at the blog, and I have been with her during my absence, I guess there is no need for "I'm sorrys".
The past few weeks have been filled with family, food, and lots of car time. My Mom and Aunt Cyndi drove to LA for a visit, and then Lex and I drove back to Utah with them so David could have quiet time for boards prep. I keep trying to convince David that I am taking vacations for his own good, but I think that he is catching on... I'm not sure how much longer the story is going to fly!

In Town
My older brother Matt and his family have been in town on their family vacation. Their adventures have taken them to Disneyland and Seaworld, but I am just glad we have been able to see them. It was fun for Lex to meet her some of her cousins - Joel is 4 and Emme 9 months. Lex loves watching Joel and he knew just what to do to make her laugh. I was excited to see the girls together, but the only time they noticed each other was when one had a toy the other wanted.

Play Date
Since David is gone all week, we have to fit 6 days worth of play into Sunday... There is no question that Alexis sleeps better on Sunday night than any other night of the week. The weird child loves the feeling of being 'out of control' - whether that means going up or coming down, she's indifferent. I'm amazed she doesn't throw up more... just watching the video clip makes me feel like I'm going to lose my lunch!

Big Shoes to Fill
It appears that Alexis has decided to follow in her father's footsteps by being intrigued with teeth. She saw her first patient today - and even attempted her first extractions. Poor Taz didn't know what he was in for.
Towards to end, I'm not entirely sure if she is going in to make a pass at Taz, or if she just can't get a good enough grip with her hands and she decided to improvise...

Empty Nesters
Since all their kids have been out of the house for a while, Mom and Dad have settled pretty nicely into the empty nest syndrome. However, not too long ago they saw that the nest was far from empty...
The robins and sparrows are keeping them quite busy, and showing who is really in charge... even Harley is on a very short leash these days.
My only question is, why does everything have to start out looking like an alien... now that is a deep thought...

Growth Spurt
It amazes me how quickly Lex is changing from an infant to a little girl - maybe more of a drama queen, but that is a whole other story. Recently, I was feeling quite a bit of pressure when I realized she had grown out of all the clothes in her drawers and closet... it is a good thing she doesn't mind being a nudist!

P is for Patrick... and he was pretty darn good!
Once again, thanks to the blessing of government aid, we were able to try something new for dinner. I have always wanted to try lobster... and, finally got my chance.
